The former pianist and musical director for the legendary Héctor Lavoe steps into the bandleader role and validates the artist’s stake among his peers.

I just received my copy in the mail today and I am LOVING this CD! Not your typical salsa dance album, there are a range of emotions evoked by these selections. "Clara's Lament" is an example of this, taking you from wistfulness, even sadness, to an exhilirating energy, and back to start again.

For those of us from, or descended from, the Island of Enchantment, Pulpo's instrumental rendition of "Sonyando con Puerto Rico" is hauntingly nostalgic and classic. Yet again, once more, it is completed in an original, unexpected, yet most appropriate manner, drawing the nostalgia from our very depths by employing the simplest and most basic elements of percussion.

Props to Chris Soto for this new undertaking, producing this entire creation, and for bringing to the fore the genious of this master. Congratulations, kid!! Your production is truly awesome -- music, cd cover, notes -- everything is meticulous and articulate. Keep it coming!

I was fortunate enough to have gotten an advance copy. My boy Chris has left the major record labels banging their heads against the wall for not producing albums like this. This CD is going to be huge, especially for those who like classic salsa. I have played a few of the tracks and have gotten great response from the dancefloor. Good work Chris!
